JJ Aboussie: For me it was Mr. Steffens. He taught me the most important things in high school and he made the biggest impact on me. Amma Afful: Nancy Smith. I have not known her for long but being in her class is awesome. When you make mistakes on assignments she tells you what exactly you did wrong. How she scolds is scary. It makes me want to bring out my best and I love it. Anytime she grades my work my heart beats because I do not want to disappoint her. She praises a lot and I just love her personality. Daniel Akkerman: Adam Hicks. He has taught me a lot of life lessons and is someone you could always go to with issues. He understands how to connect with teenagers and communicate with us whereas other teachers struggle in this area. Aisha Analil: Mr. Consolino has inspired me the most because of his constant enthusiasm and support towards all of his students. Brenna Arakelian: Id say there are several teachers that have inspired me. Mrs. White, for her kindness, Mrs. Mabie and Mrs. Hruby for their snark and wit and for always being there, Mr. Balog whos been there to help me grow as a musician since 6th grade, Ms. Shaffer, whos always willing to listen to my problems, and Chef Lawrence, Mr. Ell and Mrs. Trott, who all inspired me to want to be a teacher. Andrew Arciszewski: Mrs Bolton. She has inspired me to be a better guitar player. Rebecca Atteberry: Mrs. Sakowski. She is always there to lend an ear and she is such a kind, helpful, and trustworthy person. She wants you to succeed in everything you do and is cheering you on every step of the way. She is a mentor, friend, and leader in every part of her life. I want to grow up and show the same compassion towards others that she shows to me. Kate Barnard: The staff member that has inspired me the most is Mr. Long. I have had him for the past five years of my time in Rockwood and he has always worked so hard to be the very best for his students. Not only does Mr. Long work with his students to make sure that every single person is comfortable with their music, but he also checks on his students mental health frequently. This inspires me because Mr. Long consistently goes the extra mile when it comes to his job and his students mental health and I hope that I can get better at applying that same mindset. Mya Barnes: Madame Tamaroff has inspired me the most. She encouraged me to pursue French after high school and to be active in the French community in St. Louis. Edward Barsumyan: Brennan Dooley. He is just an amazing human with a dope Spotify. The class was wholesome and the vibe was immaculate. Bailey Barton: Ms. Shaffer has definitely inspired me the most. Not only is she incredibly kind to everyone, but she also makes it a priority to make a real connection with each of her students. Alexis Basler: Sumner because he comes to lots of the athletic events and is always fun. Emma Belmont: Mr. Landow. He always makes every day fun and lives life to the fullest being himself, he is extremely responsible and kind, I strive to be Mr. Landow when I grow up. Sydney Berry: Ms. Title genuinely cares about her students successes inside and outside the classroom. She makes me excited to learn to the point where I ask her for extra books to read. I was lucky enough to have been in her very first Black Lit class and I will always remember her effort and courage to teach that class. Emma Bibb: Madame Tamaroff has always been helpful and caring. Brooke Biermann: Katrina Clark. She has always been a great leader and listener. Zo Bishop: Madame T. She always puts 110% into her class work and students alike. Katherine Blythe: I was most inspired by my French teacher, Madame Tamaroff. She always tries to put others before herself, but she also isnt afraid to call you out for being a knucklehead! I admire her confidence especially during these difficult times. Justin Bogar: Madame Tamaroff. She was the best teacher Ive ever had and even if I was having a bad day her classes would lighten me up. Katie Bollinger: Madame Tamaroff has by far been one of my biggest inspirations. She opens her classroom and her heart to all she meets. She genuinely cares for her students and makes it a priority to check in on them outside of just school/ grades. She is a teacher, but a sincere friend as well, and Im beyond lucky to have her as a role model. Evan Boren: Joe Wier always pushed me to work hard and be the best possible version of myself. Poul Briginets: My mom because she works hard here every day. Matthew Brodsky: Brad Balog has inspired me the most because of his integrity and dedication to every single ensemble in the band program. Lauren Brooks: Landow because he always was so happy and cheerful and he made learning fun! Rachel Brown: Nancy Smith because shes always there when you need someone to talk to and her students could always count on her to pull through for them. She taught me that its ok to be vulnerable and ask for help because you need to help yourself before you can help others. Payton Brown: Mr. DeBlasi. He is always trying to make learning fun and hes the best teacher ever. Chris Brown: Mrs. Koziatek (9th grade Algebra teacher) because she believed in me the most. I hope to one day be as passionate about something as he is about music. Jeffrey Chan: Elizabeth Overcash and Cristina Marasigan. These teachers treat their students with respect, kindness, and support. Their presence in my academic career led me to pursue the sciences. Annemarie Christiansen: Ms. Kempf! I love her Forensics Science class and she encourages my love of research, analysis, forensic sciences and all the things in that realm! Peyton Cizek: Scott Allen because he showed all of his students respect and cared for them. He also made me laugh all of the time. Tessa Clark: Mrs. IF has been such a big inspiration to me because of how well balanced she is. She might boo-bear you on occasion, but it is clear that she is always rooting for those around her. Logan Coleman: Colonel Smith. His endless calm and tenaciousness in the face of adversity has truly made him a role model of mine, and someone Ill strive to be. Ben Coopmans: The staff member who has inspired me the most is Lt. Col. James Smith. The corps is cadet led and run, meaning he is only there to give guidance and teach course material. If the cadet corps doesnt do its job (especially in recruiting), our unit may be shut down and moved somewhere with more enrollment. He is literally trusting with his job. That level of trust and commitment is like nothing I have seen anywhere else. It has helped me be the leader I am today. Owen Craddock: Coach Hicks, great coach and a helpful and nice person always. Andrew Crismon: Mr. Gutowski. He was the only teacher I felt I could truly connect with. Derek Crocker: Sean OConnor for always being supportive. Colin Cundy: Coach Hicks because he pushes me to better myself both physically and mentally. Breanna Davis: Honestly, it would either be Mrs. Lewis or Ms. Kempf. Mrs. Lewis was the one who helped me to start realizing the purposes of life. Ms. Kempf showed me that it is okay to be different and do your own thing. Abigail Denen: Mrs. White became my go to person starting freshman year all the way up until senior year. She helped me through some very difficult times and I don't know if I would be here without her. Jonathan Denen: Mr. Klawiter because of his unique understanding and compassion towards his students. He is by far one of the most knowledgeable teachers Ive had and his ability to sympathize with the complications of our teenage years complements his ability to teach effectively. Nazir Dent: Coach Wier. He always finds a way to find a light in the dark and always has a good story to tell. Another thing is he doesnt run out of ambition and is always trying to improve. Isha Deol: Ms. Buesse because shes always been supporting me and is an exceptional counselor. She gets the job done. Vikas Devulapalli: Mrs. IF for her constant support. Casyn DeWein: Fischer because she is so passionate about teaching and she is always there when you need someone to go to. Ana Lisa Diaz-Granados: Teachers like Mrs. IF are the backbone of society and without them, I, along with many others wouldnt possess all the knowledge I currently have that has led me to success, at least so far. Mrs. IF sets an example for all teachers, a jack of all trades who manages to be kind, attentive, and relatable towards her students. Everyone just has a job in order to survive, Mrs. IF teaches because she loves to teach, she loves what she teaches, and she loves her students. He truly cares about his students, takes time to connect with us, and helped me realize what I want to do in life. Paul-Martin Fearon-Hernandez: Scott Haxton, one of the most ambitious people Ive ever met, as well as the kindest, most understanding teacher. However, he did not let those attributes get in the way of him being a great teacher and going soft on us, he made sure we knew our material and got where we needed to be. Sophie Feraro: Mrs. Buesse because she helped me feel better when I was scared. Maya Frank: Mrs. ODonnell because she is always very kind and is there for me when I need it. Elizabeth Franke: Mr. DeBlasi because he always has a positive attitude. He always tries to make everyone feel welcome in his class and hes funny. He always tries to brighten all of his students days. Abigail Freund: Both of the ROTC teachers because they talk about real life problems and I believe they should be mentioned more. It happens everyday and it affects most of us so we need to bring attention to it. Kristen Frings: Mr. Klawiter has inspired me the most. Through both of his classes I have taken with him, he has remained upbeat and passionate about history. This has made me realize how much I enjoy learning about past events and has influenced my major to include a degree in history.
